Lentils come in a huge variety of colors and flavors ranging from brown to orange to green. This particular lentil is brown in color. Lentils have a high nutritional value second only to soy beans. They need no presoaking and cook in only 45 minutes and have a pleasant, peppery taste. They make a great soup by themselves and can be ground and made into meatless patties. Lentils work great for sprouting and sprout in 2-3 days. They make a great addition to salads because they are crisp and sweet. With all these benefits it makes them a top of the list in your long-term food storage.
