Why We Are No Longer Accepting Credit Cards

Dear Valued Customer,

After 29 years, we’ve made the important decision to stop accepting credit cards. We want to be fully transparent about why this change is in your best interest.

1. Credit Cards Drive Up Prices
Credit card companies charge high fees— 3% to 5% or even more with hidden fees merchants must pay — on every transaction. This quickly adds up and forces companies to raise prices to cover these costs. By eliminating credit card payments, our prices were LOWERED 11%. We are also lower in shipping costs then the cannery.

2. Protecting Your Privacy
Credit card companies track spending habits, locations and what you buy. This data is sold to third parties—such as advertisers, marketers, and even government agencies—without your direct consent or knowledge. This information is used to build highly detailed profiles, which can be used for targeted advertising and surveillance. We’re deeply concerned about the widespread invasion of privacy that credit card companies enable.

3. The Danger to Society
The ability of credit card companies to gather, sell, and share vast amounts of personal data is a rapidly escalating danger to society. This data isn't just used for marketing—it’s sold to organizations and external entities, including governments, without meaningful oversight or transparency. This data sharing creates a culture of surveillance where every aspect of your life is being monitored, analyzed, and monetized. We believe this poses a serious threat to individual privacy, freedom, and autonomy, and we are taking a stand against it.

4. The Good News: Savings Passed On to You
By no longer accepting credit cards, we’re cutting out the costly transaction fees and reducing the need for expensive security upgrades and maintenance. This means we can lower our prices and pass the savings directly on to you. It’s a win-win: lower prices, better privacy, and a more ethical approach to business.

5. Stop the Billionaires
The billionaire take-over of the country is extremely well advanced. All the major corporations, payment processors (including Visa/Mastercard and PayPal) of consumer goods and products have monetized every aspect of life for the entire population, forcing us all to buy at high prices they demand. EVERY credit card purchase enriches these entities more and more while impovershing independent families and small businesses. Millions of business have failed becasue of the ridiculous concentration of wealth this creates. This has to stop, but requires the participation of everyone. Make the commitment to stop participating and stop funding financial monopolies.

We understand that this may be an inconvenience for those who are used to paying with credit cards, but we believe this shift will benefit all of us in the long run—both in terms of cost savings and privacy protection. We hope you will make the commitment as we have done.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,
Food Assets
